Daycare update

Playing with toys in her chair....12 weeks old.
Hanging out at home....12 weeks old.

OK...so daycare still sucks but not as bad as it did 3 weeks ago. Isabelle seems to like it there and her teacher is really nice. That first day I took her there, I cried the entire time I was dropping her off. It gradually got easier and some days are tougher than others. Isabelle likes to look around at the other babies and see what's going on. She doesn't sleep much there either, probably because there is always someone crying or fussing or something is always going on and she doesn't want to miss out! She gets to swing there too - we don't have a swing at home so she likes that. Some days there are only 4-6 babies there and other days there are over 10 babies there. I wonder how much one-on-one time she gets sometimes or if she is left to cry. I understand that sometimes that's just the way it goes but it makes me sad when I pick her up and she has been crying in her crib. That's only happened once so far and she was just tired and couldn't fall asleep. Overall, they do a great job there. We recently found out that a new company will be taking over the management of the facility in a couple months, and of course, there will be changes. Instead of a 2 day minimum to keep Isabelle's spot in the program, it will be a 24 hr/wk minimum. The most we use it is 19 hrs a week and sometimes we only need about 10 hrs/week, depending on my schedule. So....looks like we will have to do some research or just throw money away each week. Nice, huh? Just when I was beginning to get kinda used to the idea of daycare....

  1. That stinks about your daycare. Such a bummer! I'm sure it will work out. If I end up losing my job, I'd be happy to stay home and watch her for a while!
