9 month check up & eye exam

Wearing a Halloween outfit in December....

Loves to make that squeaking noise on those foam letters!

Ready for bathtime!

Isabelle had her 1st eye exam today! Our eye doctor does a free exam for 6-12 month olds just to see if there are any problems with vision. Isabelle checked out just fine! They used brightly colored toys with flashing lights to distract them while the doctor looks in her eyes. She also had her eyes dilated to make it easier for the doctor to look in them. Everything was just perfect so she won't have to go back until she's 3-4 yrs old, unless we notice something that might be caused by her vision.
Isabelle had her 9 month check up at the doctor today too. She weighed 18lbs 4oz and was 25.75 inches long. That's the 50% for weight and only 20% for height! Her head measured 17.25 inches which was 50%. Once again, Isabelle had a great visit with the doctor and there weren't any concerns. Her ears looked fine too, despite the major runny nose she has going on lately! We talked about advancing her diet and only avoiding strawberries, oranges/orange juice, and peanut butter until she's 2 yrs old. Isabelle did get her 2nd H1N1 shot today...which wasn't too bad. Melody, our NP's nurse was disappointed that she had to give her a shot today - normally there isn't any at the 9 month check up.
