Ethan had his 2 month check up yesterday afternoon. I usually make all my appointments for early in the morning so I can get up and at 'em and get them out of the way. Not this time, I made it for 3:30pm. It was Daniel's first day back to work too so I knew I was going to have to brave the trip alone. A friend of mine from work (actually, it was Jessica, from my previous post!) volunteered to help me out if I ever needed it - so....I asked her if she wanted to come with us and help out with Isabelle. Of course, she did because she is such a sweetheart!!
The appointment went well with the exception of the shots. That was to be expected. Ethan weighed in at 12lbs 7oz!! No wonder his 3 month clothes are fitting so well! He's even too big for some of them! He is 23 inches long and his head measured 15.25 inches - 50% for height and weight and 25% for head circ. Everything checked out great and he's perfect!!
Isabelle was wound up so it was great to have an extra set of helping hands there. Then it was time for his immunizations. The nurses were preparing their needles and band-aids and I was cradling his beautiful head and trying to be comforting.....then I saw Isabelle with the most puzzled, concerned look on her face! Jessica was holding her to keep her from running around (and we kind of like to watch other nurses give shots, (at least I do) just to be sure they do it right) so right before they gave them, Jessica distracted Isabelle with glove balloons. I didn't think about how traumatizing it might be for Isabelle to see that. Yep, good thing Jessica was there!
