We celebrated Thanksgiving this year just the 4 of us at home. I was scheduled to work that night so we didn't make the trek to the Durbin family get together. We had a pretty low-key day; watched the parade on TV, did some Thanksgiving crafts, read the Black Friday ads, had the big turkey dinner with all the trimmings, skyped with family, took a nap and then it was off to work for me. It was nice. I couldn't help but think of last Thanksgiving when Ethan and I were discharged from the hospital and my parents' and my grandpa were here. We were late getting out of the hospital and Mom was freaking out because she still had things to do for dinner to be ready at a decent time. Daniel had to squeeze in between the car seats in the backseat for the drive home. Isabelle fell asleep on the way home and napped while we all ate. Ethan sat in the sunlight because he was jaundice. It really doesn't seem like that was a whole year ago. Time really does move faster as you get older . I never believed it. But now I do.

Daddy and Isabelle making turkeys.
Handprint turkeys and the finished product.
Strawberry Shortcake came to dinner.
Thanksgiving dinner and all the trimmings. Yum!
Ethan enjoying his first real Thanksgiving dinner. He's a good eater.
Daniel and Isabelle posing for a pic during dinner. I got some fancy Thanksgiving plates and cups and things for the kids to make it more special, so they will get the idea that its a holiday even though we didn't go anywhere or spend it with extended family. I know they are young but I think they still get it - they're smart!
Double chocolate pecan pie for dessert. Delish!
I got the kiddos in their jammies and headed to work. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
