"Vacation" at Grandma's house

The kids and I spent a few days at my parents' house. It was a pretty fun-filled trip.....

The kids love roaming the farm....

Getting a ride in the wagon
It was the first weekend of Ragbrai so of course, the bus wasn't ready to go. We spent a few hours cleaning it and getting it ready for a couple of days on the road. The kids thought it was so cool - they had fun running around and playing in it. Dad left Saturday and Mom and I met up with them Monday when I had a sitter for the kiddos. We went spent some time with the cousins on Sat night and Sunday.

On the bus - found some binoculars. What a fun toy!

Playing on the beach with cousins and cousins of cousins. The Taylors and Fahnlanders spent the day at the lake with us too.

Lulled him right to sleep.

Floating with mom.

This picture cracks me up because if you spend any amount of time with my parents and Heather on Ragbrai, they will end up talking about something historical or nostalgic that we encounter on the route. They are discussing how old this tree must be. It was HUGE!
While my parents and I were out 'riding our bikes' my brother and his wife welcomed their first child! Elijah Robert was born the day before my dad turned 60!! We planned on coming back early anyway and now we had even more reason to leave the ride.

The birthday boys
We had a little party for my dad's 60th birthday at the Moon with family and a few close friends. It was fun and was a great wrap up to the week!
