8 Months Old!

Isabelle is 8 months old today! Crazy!! Time is moving so fast - and Isabelle is growing and learning so fast. Its hard to keep up with her some days!! She is really into hanging out with Mommy lately. I don't want to toot my own horn but she loves her mom! Its freaking awesome! The other day, I came home from work in the morning and she threw down the toy she was playing with and speed-crawled to the door to meet me, with a big ole grin on her face! She was so happy to see me! I just love her to pieces! What a little sweetheart! Isabelle still likes her daddy but most of the time, she is right under my feet, trying to climb up my legs, fussing for me to pick her up. Its pretty cool. I cherish these days because I know that someday, she won't want anything to do with me.

In this past month, Isabelle has started eating more solid foods, like sweet potatoes, carrots & spinach. I have also been giving her little tastes of 'real' food - mashed potatoes, chips, crackers. She tries grabbing the food we are eating (she seems to have Go-Go Gadget arms!) and is very interested in eating. I need to start her on fruits...I have been really slow at introducing new foods to her. I guess I just don't want her to grow up so fast! I bought her some 'biter buscuits' for teething and the little puffs that dissolve in her mouth so she has fed herself those too. Isabelle is an expert crawler these days. She has figured out that she doesn't have to stay in one room and has been exploring the whole house! We finally baby-proofed and put up the baby gate at the top of the basement stairs. Isabelle is still a very vocal baby - she can say 'ma ma' now! I'm sure she doesn't know that it also is a name for me but I like to think so. Daniel still answers when she babbles 'da da.' Its funny. Isabelle also makes this warble noise a lot. A lot! Sometimes Isabelle waves bye-bye, using her whole arm! Not sure if she is putting the two together yet but we're working on it. We are also working on clapping and giving 5's.

I included a couple of videos of me trying to take Isabelle's 8month picture with her bear. It was hysterical. She doesn't get to play with the bear since I want to keep it nice for these monthly pictures so when I set it close to her, she goes crazy! She loves it! Tries to eat its feet, wrestles it, gives it kisses..too funny! It took a bunch of tries to get a decent picture.
