Its Isabelle's 2nd birthday! And its St Patrick's Day!! Oh what fun we had planned for today: Daniel took today and tomorrow off work, the parade, playing in the new sandbox, enjoying the warm weather (70 degrees, just like the day she was born). But Isabelle had other ideas.
I got home from work this morning and she was super whiney and very clingy. I couldn't get away to take a shower at all. She had a low grade temp and a runny nose so Ithought maybe it was her teeth. Her temp kept creeping little by little and when I asked her where it hurt, she told me her left ear 3 different times. At this point, I had to either be getting in the shower to make the parade or heading to the Dr to check it out. I have been there so many times lately and its been nothing. I am so indecisive anyway, I have a hard time taking them to the Dr because I don't want it to be nothing. So instead of taking her out in the warm breeze today, I thought I better check it out in case something was brewing. I would have felt horrible taking her out if she truely didn't feel well. Turns out that was a good call on my part because her eardrum had burst and it was draining all over the place. I think that happened in the car on the way because she was a different person at the Dr's office than what she was at home before we left. We got a script for ear drops and antibiotics and Isabelle took a long, much needed, nap at home.
During her nap, we set up her sandbox. She kept calling the sand snow. We had her favorite meal, chicken pot pie (and she actually ate some!) and cake and ice cream. Her party will be this Saturday and almost all of her little cousins will be there on both sides so this will be fun!!
Here's a quick update on what Isabelle is up to these days: She talks NON STOP! About everything and anything. She's asking questions now too, like "Whats that guy doing?" "Dad, are you OK?" "Dad, do you wanna eat chicken pot pie?" If I drop something, she will say, Mom, what happened?" and I will say, "Oh I dropped something." And then she will respond, "Oh that's too bad." She's very helpful too. She'll bring us our drinks whenever we set them down. She's very social, she says hi to everyone she sees; in the store, at the Y, her blanket, her stuffed animals, pictures of animals, she'll talk to anything. When people are leaving, she always says, "See ya later" and just started adding alligator to it. She is also very polite. She's always saying "Thanks" when we give her something or if we have something she wants, she'll say, "May I have it?" It sounds like May I habit? Its pretty cute. Isabelle sings constantly too. Her favorites are Mary had a Little Lamb (all 4 verses), Jesus Loves Me (so darn cute!), and Itsy Bitsy Spider.
