This morning I had a message from daycare when I got home from work. I usually go over to nurse him right after work but since today was only a half day for the kiddos, I wanted to come home and get right to my 3 hrs of sleep since I had to pick them up early. I guess Ethan's room didn't have my cell phone number so when I got home, the message was that Ethan had an episode where he was coughing and then turned bright red and didn't breathe for a sec or so. Scared the daylights out of the daycare ladies. He did this Thursday morning but I just thought it was because he was ticked he was still in his carseat (because he didn't start out coughing) so I was thinking it was probably nothing. But since they were concerned, I felt I needed to have him checked out. So off to the Dr I went with Ethan (2nd time this week, and 3rd time in 2 weeks. Nice.) Turns out it was a good thing though. Our Dr was in the walk in clinic today and she thought he sounded wheezy. She ordered a nebulizer treatment for him and then listened again afterwards. He sounded better but wanted to continue the treatments all weekend and see him on Monday morning. She said he has broncholitis, which I am pretty sure I have heard that also called RSV. But when I asked her, she told me she wasn't going to test for RSV because it wouldn't change how she planned on treating it. So....maybe he has a small case of RSV? Yikes. I am so happy I didn't just wait it out like I was planning to. It could have turned into something way worse and I don't even want to think about how that could have panned out.
