5 months old

Wow, Ethan is 5 months old today. I can't believe it. This is going so much faster than it did with Isabelle. I guess its true, time does move a whole lot faster with your 2nd baby. I was thinking this morning, I was feeding Isabelle rice cereal at 5 1/2 months...I'm not ready for that. Not at all. Its hard enough to get the rest of us fed - now I will have to spoon feed a baby? How's this going to work on nights when I work? Its such a rat race the way it is.... Anyways, Ethan is doing great. I thought maybe he had an ear infection again so I took him to the Dr this morning. The last couple of nights, he's been waking up every hour, only able to sleep on my shoulder on the couch, waking up as soon as I lay him down in bed. But of course, his ears look great. Hmmm, maybe he just wants to cuddle with mommy? They weighed him at the Dr's office...15lbs 2oz. I have a follow up with his regular Dr on Tuesday for his weight check.

Ethan has been up to some new tricks. He learned how to blow raspberries and make bubbles with his cute little lips. He rolls over from his tummy to back right away when he's playing. He has rolled from back to tummy a few times but seems to be content on just playing on his back and sides. Isabelle is always right there too, to give him a little push. We are working on sitting up too; he still needs some assistance. He's getting better about stopping himself from nose-diving into the floor. Ethan loves to watch and smile at Isabelle. Just loves it. Every morning, Isabelle smothers him with kisses and hugs and "Good morning, Ethan" over and over. They are so cute to watch together. He laughs all the time when we tickle him. I've noticed he talks more when Isabelle isn't around. Is that why they say that 2nd borns are late talkers? When its just Ethan and I, he's chatting and shrieking up a storm! He's a pretty happy little guy! We are so blessed - there's nothing better than happy & healthy kids!!
