Wow, mom! A real life baby cow!

Nice cow!

Lemonade hog - she wouldn't share!

Zonked out after a fun day....had to get the Hawk tatoo for her daddy.

Isabelle and I went to the fair on Wednesday morning. We started out in the Animal Learning Center where she got to see baby ducks, chicks, pigs, calves, goats and ostriches. I think the ducks were her favorite; she liked watching them swim in their pond! Isabelle also practiced her animal sounds with every animal we saw! It was hard to take pictures since she was clinging to me everytime I put her down - at first. Then she started running from me....how fun. She got more comfortable around those little animals once she realized they couldn't get her! We skipped the Little Hands on the Farm - maybe next year. I was already so hot from having to hold and carry her and then chasing her - yeah, maybe next year we'll do that exhibit.

We took a break and ate some donuts and then headed to the animal barns, which she loved! She was able to pet a calf; she was thrilled!! After petting that one, she wanted to touch and pet all the animals! We went through the barns, looking at cows, pigs, sheep, goats and all the weird animals they bring in, like ostriches and that gigantic elk. Then we went to the horse barn...she loved the horses. Until one breathed on her...didn't know what to think of that.
On the way to the car, we swung by the Varied Industries building to get my ISU football poster for the year. The Lions Club was doing eye screenings for kids and asked if I wanted to get Isabelle's eyes checked. I said sure, even though she has already had an eye exam. As I filled out the paperwork, she fell asleep! We woke her up and did the test and she was good to go for a while! She got an ISU tatoo on her cheek at the ISU booth. Then I kinda felt obligated to find the U of I booth to get a Hawkeye on her other cheek for her Daddy....so I did. Then she was able to fall asleep again on the way to the car. What a fun day!
