This week, Isabelle and I have went swimming every day! Monday we went to the Y. Daniel decided since he has been working in town and working 8 hr days that he wanted to start swimming again. So while he was doing his laps, Isabelle and I practiced all the things we learned in Waterbabies class this past spring. She loves jumping off the edge of the pool - I have to say "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack jumped over the candlestick" - just like in Waterbabies or she just stands there, waiting for a cue to jump. She also likes flipping from back to front and is getting better at kicking her legs and feet. And she actually put her face in the water to blow bubbles! Its amazing what just a couple of months can do - she wouldn't even come close to putting her face in before!

Tuesday my friend Sarah had an unexpected day off work so her and and her boys met us at the pool. It was a lot of fun! Isabelle had been to that pool once before, maybe a month ago. She was SO much braver this time! Sarah's boys are 4 & 2 so maybe that helped her overcome her fears of the big outdoor pool. She went under the umbrella/mushroom, played in the little fountains, walked along the zero-depth side of the pool, in a big circle around the chairs saying hi to the sunbathers...even tried jumping in the deep end! Yep, she's becoming a little dare devil around the water! She was jumping off the edge of the pool into the 2.5ft deep water (I was catching her of course) and when I put her back on the edge to jump in again, she turned around and started running for the deep end. I can't move as fast as I used to but thankfully I caught her before she got too close. She did this several times....Maybe she wouldn't have jumped in anyway (no one to say the rhyme!) but I don't want to find out if she will jump in or not. It was probably a pretty funny sight...Preggers trying to climb out of the pool to chase after a toddler. I wish I would have brought my camera - she was Miss Independent that day. Usually she's clinging to me and that makes it pretty tough to take cute swimming pictures.

Wednesday we went to the Y again. We had plans to go to a new local waterpark but my friends had to cancel. Sick kids and water in the basement to clean up. Yuck. But the Y was fun for us again today. Instead of jumping in over and over, Isabelle explored walking around the 1 ft area, climbing the stairs and walking down the ramp. Daniel was in the first lane, right next to where we were at so she frequently ran over there to tell him hi and to try to jump in....no relaxing or trying to stretch my sciatic nerve for me! Had to be on my toes the whole time!! We all had a good time and plan on making this a regular thing for us!
