No paci - Day 1

Today was the day. We just decided to do it. We got rid of the pacifiers. All of them. (until I found one in the dryer tonight) Isabelle woke up a gazillion times during the night of course so we didn't have that crutch to fall back on - unfortunately. I think she knows when I don't get any sleep after working - I was exhausted from the weekend so I went to bed as soon as she did last night! So much for a good night's sleep. Isabelle slept with us most of the night, which means I didn't sleep well at all. Two kids kicking me, a stiff and sore sciatic nerve and being shoved to the edge of the bed isn't fun. Anyway, this morning, Isabelle asked for her paci right away. I opened the draw where they usually are and said, "Oh no, there's no paci's in here! I guess they are lost. Better look for them." She looked in to the basket and saw they were gone. She looked a little around her bed and thank goodness she didn't find any strays. We had a busy morning so I was hoping that would help her to forget all about the paci. It did, to an extent. She asked about it a couple more times and began to whine a little but she got over it quickly. We had a lunch date with a friend so she fell asleep on the way home in the car. If she hadn't, I'm sure naptime would have been a different story. The rest of the day went well. She began a mini meltdown around 4pm, like usual but when there was no paci, she seemed ok with it. Bedtime went well too, which really surprised me. Daniel sang songs to her and she asked for it once. That was it - done. Hope tomorrow is like this day too!
