1 month old

Ethan is one month old today! Hard to believe we have been a family of 4 for a whole month now! He's doing well, growing and sleeping a lot. Last week, we weighed him and he was about 10lbs. I also measured him and he came in at 22 inches! For the most part, Ethan is a very good baby. He sleeps a lot during the day and of course, he likes to sleep on our chests more than in his bed. He does sleep in his crib at night so we don't feel that guilty about holding him all day. We're just trying to savor every moment with him while he's little! He's a cuddler too so its lots of fun! He's back to sleeping in long stretches at night; anywhere from 4 to 6.5hrs. I'm not complaining!

His awake periods are longer in the morning and at night. He likes to look at his big sister and the Christmas tree. Tummy time isn't his favorite thing anymore. He used to just curl up and fall asleep during it. Now he'll only do that if we leave him long enough to wear himself out fussing. The last few nights, he has been getting fussy for about an hour and a half, usually later between 10 & 12, for no reason. He seems to spit up more during this time but maybe its because he's so upset. (Oh yeah, I thought he wouldn't be a spitter like his sister. Wrong. He started doing that more this last couple of weeks.) We've had a few late nights but we've also been lucky enough to have him sleep til 6:30am on those nights.
Isabelle still loves her brother, I don't think there is much jealousy at all. She loves to give him kisses in the morning, says, "Hello Ethan!" & "He's so cute." all the time. She wants to be near him for a while, then gets over it quickly. She does do better at holding him now, which is nice. She doesn't just push him away like she did in the beginning. He smiled at her for the first time the other day, it was cute! He has also found his voice and coos once in a while now, which is fun to hear! We are all adjusting to life as a foursome well - things are going great!
